When is the .IT Zone Reloaded by the Italian Registration Authority? Print this Article
While some domain registries reload their master zone file nearly in real time (e. g. VeriSign does this for .COM) and therefore - at least when querying the root nameservers - a nameserver change is immediately visible on the internet.
For .IT Domain Names NIC.IT (the Italian Registration Authority for the ccTLD .IT) updates the root DNS-zone for .IT every hours starting from 01:00 - so at 01:00, 03:00, 05:00, 07:00, 09:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, 17:00, 19:00, 21:00 and 23:00.
Therefore if you register a .IT domain name at 17:30 (5:30 pm) it will be visible on the internet only after 19:00 (7:00 pm) - that is independent from the caching DNS.
